Before we get into the 'review' of this post lets delve into the methodology of America's Best Burger Blog (ABBB). I try my hardest to give everyone a good review or no review at all (for example, Wild Willy's isn't a bad establishment; it just doesn't offer anything special, so I posted a photo and encourage all of you to try it out and be your own judge). In the case of Dillon's, I have to speak my mind!
The Good Stuff (to be as fair as possible):
Great venue! A former police station from the roaring twenties, the dark and damp environment actually works well. With three levels of seating, this place has a lot to offer; from the first level with a beautiful mahogany bar, to the second level with a large open air kitchen and lavish leather chairs, and finally down in a 'Big Dig'-style open air patio, Dillion's has one thing going for it!
The Rest:Oh where to begin...
I'm not sure what bothered me more, the gossiping, barely legal staff or the fact that we were seated for a full 20 minutes before our drink order was taken (keep in mind that this was for the lunch service).
I'm not quite sure how you make Harpoon IPA taste stale, but Dillon's managed to find a way to make a locally brewed beer taste like an AB-InBev knock off.
I tend to order what ever the special of the day is, and an over-seasoned, extra rare burger seemed to be the lunch special (but at least the meat was red, not brown)
Basically, short of a change in management or a visit from Gordon Ramsay... don't go to Dillon's.
